This website
These are plain pages hosted on Netlify. There are no cookies, no sign-up and no analytics, and the fonts, pictures and mod files all come from this site. Netlify, the host, sees your IP address and the pages you ask for so it can deliver them and keep the site safe, and may keep standard access logs under Netlify's privacy policy.
Signing in
When you sign in, the mod sends your MCServerHost username or email and password to MCServerHost (www.mcserverhost.com) over an encrypted connection, and to no one else. Your password is never saved. What the mod keeps is the session MCServerHost gives back, stored encrypted on your computer in config/mcsh-dashboard.json: locked to your Windows user, or with a key file in your user folder on other systems. Signing out deletes it and ends that session on MCServerHost; you can also end it from your MCServerHost sessions list, where it shows as "MCSHPortal (this game)".
Using your servers
Everything you do in MCSHPortal, from starting a server to editing files, reading the console or making a backup, goes straight from your game to MCServerHost, the same way the website does it. The mod has no servers of its own, so the developer never sees your account, servers, files, console or password.
Other services the mod uses
- Modrinth: Mod Sync sends the fingerprints (SHA-1 hashes) of the mod files in your game and on your server to Modrinth to work out which mods they are, and downloads the mods you choose from Modrinth.
- Downloads: backups and other files come from the download links MCServerHost hands out.
- Join: connects your game to your server, the same as the Multiplayer menu.
These services see your IP address and what was asked for, under their own privacy policies.
On your computer
Apart from the sign-in, the mod keeps its settings in your Minecraft config folder and saves files you download where you choose, such as your Downloads or mods folder. It sends no usage data anywhere.
Fair use
MCSHPortal is free to use with these rules:
- Use it only with your own MCServerHost account, on servers you own or were given access to as a subuser.
- Don't use it to get into other people's accounts or servers, or to get around permissions, plan limits or security checks.
- Don't flood MCServerHost with automated or excessive requests, and don't use the mod to attack, spam or harm servers, players or the panel.
- Follow MCServerHost's own terms and rules: they apply to everything you do through the mod, and breaking them can get your account limited.
- Download MCSHPortal only from this site. Don't reupload it, sell it or share changed copies.
No warranty
MCSHPortal is provided as it is, without any guarantee. What you do in it is real: deleting files, restoring a snapshot or reinstalling a server changes your server exactly as it would on the website, so keep backups. MCServerHost doesn't make or support the mod.
